Truck Stop Gospel – Parker Millsap

Happy Friday! Fairly short post today because I need to go mow the lawn.

“Truck Stop Gospel” is a really fun song with some really great lyrics. I don’t believe in criticizing anyone for their religious beliefs, and I actually really enjoy learning about spiritual beliefs other than my own. One of the things I like about this song is that Millsap isn’t being critical of Christianity in any way, or even really advocating for it one way or another, he’s more so narrating a perspective as he saw it growing up.

In doing some research, I found that Millsap was raised in a Pentecostal church, and I think the song and music video definitely show the influence it had on him and his music.
