Sweater Weather – The Neighbourhood

Happy Friday! I’ve gotta admit, I was pretty late to the game on “Sweater Weather.” This is a song that I had been aware of for a really long time. I remember hearing it all the time playing in various cars throughout high school and college, but I never really took any time to actually listen to it until after I graduated from college. And I’ll tell you this as well, I have still only listened to less than 5 other songs by the group! Nothing against them at all, and just like millions of others, “Sweater Weather” is one of my all-time favorite songs.

I really got into this track when I was teaching myself how to play it on bass, and really dug how simple the bass line is, but is still able to drive the song along perfectly. It’s an outstanding vibe, especially on the weekend or perhaps driving home from work. It’s one of those cool songs that just puts me in a good mood. Lyrically, I think it’s just a nice love song, but paired with the instrumentation it almost becomes a somewhat sensual song?
