Steak Night at the Prairie Rose – Silverada

Another Silverada song for y’all! One of the best country bands working today, you might as well call these guys the USPS because they always deliver. I can’t get enough of these guys lately and have been working my way through their discography over the past couple of weeks. Currently, I’d say Steak Night at the Prairie Rose is my favorite, with their most recent, the aptly named Silverada, being a close second for me.
From a lyrical standpoint, I love the story told in this song. In the short pre-interview of the live performance, Mike tells us that this is a pretty true-to-real-life tune, basing most of this on his experiences with his dad and playing his first gig when he was just fourteen at a real place called the Prairie Rose, every Wednesday on Steak night. How cool. I love the relaxed and almost sorrowful tone the song gives off. The story itself is bittersweet but a beautiful tribute to Mike’s father.
Amazing musicians in all aspects, I can’t recommend taking some time to explore these guys’ work enough, especially if you’re a country fan.
