In The Room Where You Sleep – Dead Man’s Bones

Happy Halloween! Long before he was “just Ken“, Ryan Gosling actually dropped a pretty fun rock album with collaborator Zach Shields under the name “Dead Man’s Bones” in 2009. I’ve always liked Gosling as an actor, I consider A Place Beyond The Pines as one of my favorite movies ever.

While some might find this one a bit corny, I think “In The Room Where You Sleep” is a perfect song for Halloween, and I believe that was the intention behind making the song and the album for that matter. From what I can tell, Gosling is actually quite the musician and is credited with vocals, bass, guitar, piano, and keyboards on the album. I love the keys in the intro to this one. Lyrically, it’s not great, but this song isn’t about the lyrics; it’s about the vibes! It was briefly featured in one of the most popular horror films of all time, The Conjuring, as well. Pretty cool. So big kudos to Ryan Gosling, of all people, for creating one of the best seasonal songs of all time. We can’t all do the Monster Mash forever, right?
