Is This Love – Bob Marley and The Wailers

Happy Valentines Day! I can’t believe I haven’t featured Bob Marley yet. Or any reggae for that matter. Bob is probably a top ten artist for me, and his greatest hits album is one of my most frequently spun records in my vinyl collection.

Bob has some really nice songs pertaining to love, so I was debating one which one to featured but ultimately went with “Is This Love” off a coin flip, with “Turn Your Lights Down Low” being the second choice. I’ll link the slow jam below as well.

“Is This Love” is one of Bob’s most well known songs, with some of the sweetest lyrics of any love song. As simple as it is, the message is powerful. I think this one is in contention as one of the greatest, up there with even some of the Lennon/McCartney love songs.

Fun fact, the music video features a seven year old Naomi Campbell in her first on screen appearance.
