Staring at The Sun – TV on the Radio

Apologies for the lack of posting lately, trying to get back in the rhythm of everything.

TV on the Radio is a kick-ass rock band from Brooklyn formed in 2001. My knowledge of their catalog is pretty limited, but their song “Staring at the Sun” is a kick-ass track that feels like the buildup to an epic fight or maybe even a redemption or training montage in a movie. A super fun song, the studio version is clean and precise, but the live versions just exude energy and fun.

“Staring at the Sun” has an almost industrial feel to it with a hint of electronic influence. I love the instrumentation, and the vocals are really interesting. Headphones recommended. The song has also seen a recent resurgence due to its use in the new Daredevil show, which I think I need to check out.
