El Dragón / La Molienda -Los Orientales de Paramonga

I know nothing about these guys, Los Orientales de Paramonga, (The Orientals of Paramonga) except for one thing. They make incredible Peruvian jams. I included a link to a very detailed history of the band for those who might be as intrigued as I was. This could’ve easily been an album of the month, and may end up as one in the future, but for now, I decided to feature the first song I heard by these guys, introduced to me by one of my favorite shows of all time, Narcos.
El Dragón / La Molienda has this awesome feel to it, like a chase scene in a James Bond movie. Tropical and upbeat, but driven by a guitar riff that has a sense of danger to it, the fellas from Peru struck gold with this one. Great percussion work with what I think are bongos, and if you know me, you know I’m a sucker for horns. 10/10 on this Peruvian groove.
