Almost Automatic – Good Looks

Happy Friday! I was introduced to the outstanding indie group Good Looks by a good friend of mine, who showed me this song almost a year ago, and since then, it has been in regular rotation for me. Not exactly a country song, but these fellas are from Texas, and it shows in this one.

I love the sound of this tune, the two guitars sound really nice together, and pair great with Tyler Jordan’s almost tired-sounding vocals. The lyrics are fairly emotional, but the song is so laid back that it’s almost perfect for a lazy sunset drive through Small Town, USA. It builds up nicely, with a great release in the chorus and I can honestly say it reminds me just a tad of Tom Petty, which is a comparison I don’t make often. (Petty Forever, man) For some particular reason this song makes me feel very nostalgic, which I think could be from the sound of the guitars, or maybe the lyrics even. This is an outstanding tune from a great, but still relatively unknown band, and I’m really excited to see where they go.
