Fallin’ to Pieces – Rob Thomas

Rob Thomas and his album …Something to Be have such a nostalgic feel for me; I don’t know if one of my parents had this on CD or if these songs just got that much airplay on the radio during the early 2000s, but these songs immediately take me back to my adolescence. The same goes for a lot of Matchbox Twenty songs. I actually have a good friend whose mom wanted to name him Rob Thomas, after the man, but she settled on naming their cat that instead.
Fallin’ to Pieces is a catchy and groovy pop rocker that has quite a few layers. If you take your focus off the twangy guitar riff (which is really fun), you can hear some nice keys giving the song a soul. There is some really nice fiddle involved in the mix. I love this song; the melody and the vocals are super fun and easy to nod your head or hum along with. Lyrically, this is a pretty simple one but damn if it isn’t catchy.
